Modus, the developers of Grand Arcade, have already fully subscribed to the obligations contained in the Kyoto Treaty and recognise the need to attain carbon neutrality since the built environment is a significant contributor to global warming.
Modus guarantee that Grand Arcade, Wigan, will be carbon neutral and year on year, we shall ensure that the running of the Centre and travel to it by our customers will be carbon neutral by investing in re-forestation projects and investment in renewable technology developments around the world. Modus are also exploring the possibility of implementing schemes in the future within the locality. To minimise our carbon footprint at Grand Arcade we will, subject to planning, introduce a wind turbine to supplement our photo voltaics and green roof proposals. These are not as extensive as we would like since a retro-fitting of such features has been difficult but going forward all of our schemes will offer extensive energy saving technologies.
